The XB 70 Valkyrie was the prototype of a nuclear armed supersonic strategic bomber developed by North American Aviation for the USAF in the late 1950s. This six engine marvel was capable of flying thousands of miles at 70,000 feet at a cruising speed of Mach 3, making it almost impossible for enemy aircraft to intercept it.
