Old Self and the New Self Indonesian God Revealed in His NamesThe old self and the new self, are two 'persons' who are little understood, yet who occupy a position of unique importance in the New Testament revelation. The old self is the product of deception, Satan's lie. When we yield to deception it produces harmful desire, that produces sin; and sin, when it takes its course, produces death. In the new self, God's purpose and Gods image are restored. In actual fact, it's the very nature of Jesus Himself.
